KERINCI VOLCANO

Volcano Kerinci (3805 m) is the highest active volcano of Indonesia.It's summit trek route consist of trek jungle,tree root,gravel and sand.The route difficulty level is MODERATE,but physically CHALENGGING, and suits for those motivated in HARD ADVENTURE category.


The volcano is accessible either from JAMBI city or PADANG, but most visitors accessed it from PADANG.There are van travels from JAMBI depart regularly to Sungai Penuh, as well as regular public transport Sungai Penuh - Kersik Tuo.It's take 6-7 hour drive fro PADANG, and 12 - 13 hours from JAMBI.To access the entrance gate ( Pintu Rimbo ), there are local transports available at Kersi Tuo. Other option to access the entrance gate is by walking approx 2 km.

The trek normally completed 2 days ascent - descentwith 1 night camp in tent, 1 day rest at local homestay / basecamp prior to commencing the hike as well as 1 day rest pasca hike. The best option of trekking is doing pra hike at Gunung Tujuh prior to real summit trekking of Kerinci's volcano.The strong wind normally occur on exposed trail section pos 3 - summit zone.
