Volcano Merbabu is an old volcano with many peaks due to erosion effect, one of them is summit Syarif 3119 m. Still has two craters on lower elevation that's separated by slope called "Ghost Bridge" which is considered as crux heading for peak.This hike lead you to Syarif Peak 3119 m with prior rest at basecamp for more altitude adaptation before commencing this 8 hours ascent-descent.

The peak of volcano Merbabu is the highest and best point to have a look of volcanoes of Central Java,specially "close up view "of volcano Merapi.To reach this peak, there are so many available routes, but safest,shortest, more volcanic phenomenon and panoramic views are available at Dakan ,the last sub village on slope of Merbabu.



ITINERARY

Day 1 / YOGYAKARTA - DAKAN (D)
Pick up in afternoon 13:30 pm at airport or lobby of hotel you stay,transferring by private AC car head for around 1700 m. A stopover is made at local farmer's home which is usually used as basecamp by local hiker for taking rest before commencing the hike up summit,as well as register.Overnight basecamp.Transfer 2,5 hours.

DAY 2 / DAKAN - SYARIF - DAKAN - YOGYAKARTA (B,L)
Wake up call and have warm drink and night meal, then begin the hike in the midnight heads for the Syarif Peak 3119 m. Enjoy warm tea / coffee in cool morning on peak while waiting for sunrise and volcanoes surrounding : Merapi, Ungaran,Telomoyo,Lawu,Sumbing - Sindoro plus Slamet before descending back to Basecamp. After breakfast on peak we then descent back to hiking basecamp at Kedaakang to drive you back to Yogyakarta.Lunch at basecamp.Transfer 2,5 hours, and actual ascent - descent 8 hours.
