This trip is the best choice for viewing the " close up view" of Merapi plus sunrise on second days, and sunset on first day of our hike.Also could be alternative for those want to see "close up view" of Merapi when it's magmatic activity was rising to higher level and unrecommended for climbing up it's peak zone.The trip is suitable for those enjoy highland environment, fit and healthy,have experience of visiting highland around 2400 - 3000 m.
D/2: Pick up service in the morning 08:00 m at lobby hotel you stay around Yogyakarta city,trip briefing and transferring to the base of Merbabu at Dakan village approx 1600 m where we do relaxing walk to basecamp approx 1700 m.Experience fresh air of this highland, take a look of surrounding high farmland as well as mountainous landscape of some "small mountain" such Andong & Telemoyo. Take break at basecam as well as coordinating,repacking,prepare your gears for the next hike.After lunch break,proceed hike heads for one of knoll around 2700 m of volcano Merbabu,where you'll experinece the volcanic environment of Merbabu, take in view of surounding mountainous landsacpe, and wait for sunsite lights while enjoy a cup of warm tea plus late afternoon snack,then make way down to lower flat spot for overnight by tent.
Lunch at basecamp,dinner and next hike briefing at campsite,overnight in tent. Today transfer by car 2,5 hours, and actual hike 4 - 5 hours.(L,D)
D/2: Early morning call to get up and enjoy fresh air of mountain environment while drinking a cup of warm tea or ginger plus bread and dryfruits,then proceed to summits 3119 m and 3142 m through the hardest section of the steep upward trail along the slope up 30 - 45 degrees in variation, as well as traversing section heading for highest summit of volcano Merbabu.Make summit in cool early morning while waiting for amazing sunrise.Then proceed to another summit to have closer look of "close up" view of volcano Merapi.After having break and sight seeing on summit, we then proceeding descent heads for hiking Base Camp of Dakan for transferring you return to Yogyakarta city.
Breakfast at campsite,lunch at Basecamp.Today transfer by car 2,5 hours and actual hike 5-6 hours.Arrive Yogyakarta city approx 15:00.Trip ends(B,L)
